when my parents moved to nashville is when my appreciation for country music began. my father and his wife also like country music, they even go dancing to it. although, I've seen some of my dad's hip-hop moves so if it's anything like that i'm sure they don't go too frequently (as to not embarrass my stepmother too much, sorry dad)! my country music affair has turned into a regard for bluegrass ...speaking of, did you catch the pbs documentary "appalachia: a history of mountains and people" last night? it's a four part series narrated by sissy spacek...i'm mildly obsessed with appalachia right now, don't ask me why.
anyway, my point (finally) is that there's this band i can't stop listening to, railroad earth. they're a great mix between a jam band, like the dead, but also have this bluegrass-banjo-twang to them that i love. they've been around for a while but i feel they're a most sophisticated version of my old music taste. lovin' you is my favorite of their songs, it's my new song on repeat...

grab a cup in the morning
out and meet the day
share a glass at night
tell me how it was today
I've been lovin’ you
for so long
I'll be lovin’ you
til I'm gone
every song, every story
every taste, every town
every hope, every worry
every road I've been down
I've been lovin’ you
for so long
I'll be lovin’ you
til I'm gone
should this journey be ending
time carry you away
I'll put on a brave face
get out and start again,
but I've been lovin’ you
for so long
I'll be lovin’ you
til I'm gone
