we just started an incredible job down in the coastal town of marion in conjunction with interior designer diane cramphin of oblio design inc., and hart associates architects. although i'm not the project manager on it i am going to be blogging about it on our company's future blog (not yet up & running yet). here are a few progress shots from the weekend...
there is a central part of the house with two wings. the wing on the right we completely ripped out and poured a new foundation for. the wing on the left we essentially gutted. and the central structure we have kept in tact but will be refinishing the woodwork...
this is the rear left wing, we'll be bumping it out to include a breakfast room off the kitchen & mudroom, and a screened-in porch...
there is a lot of existing woodwork staying in the house. we are going to be stripping it of the greenish/grey tint, in place, and bringing it back to the original southern yellow pine...
there is also a wonderful carriage house located on the property that we will be restoring. i personally would live in this structure...dutch doors, sliding barn doors...
unfortunately the foundation of this building is in bad disrepair so we will be lifting the entire structure to pour a new foundation for it...
and the entire exterior of both building will be stripped of their shingles and re-shingled with double course alaskan yellow cedar...
