a client of mine has decided on hickory flooring for her open floor plan kitchen/family room renovation from carlisle wide plank flooring...i'm not sure how i feel about it to be honest. a part of me loves this old growth, varying width, and color varied variety of hardwood; it's certainly rustic (and not too cheap). but there's also a part of me that's driven nuts by those same characteristics. what do you think?...



i do however like how it's used in this j. crew store in a chevron pattern very much. i have a mega crush on anything wide planked & chevron or herringbone patterned...i'm wondering if it's bleached here in this image or if it's unfinished (although i doubt a high traffic retail store would have it unfinished)...
