nova scotia- days 2 & 3...

we've just been relaxing here in nosco, really 'ruffing it' says penny...

yesterday mom and i went into halifax to be touristy, eat ice cream and look at the boats. i bought ever touristy thing you could imagine...

we also went up to the hydrostone market section of nova scotia for some less touristy shopping. a few of the stores we really wanted to go in were closed on monday so we're planning on heading back later this week... i've been trying to get ahead on my holiday shopping this summer and these are the perfect stores to start loading up...

today we headed down to mahone bay & lunenberg for you guessed it, more shopping...

while in lunenberg we had to stop into maritime folk art, mom's new obsession...

these are some of her nova scotia folk art acquisitions in the house currently...

the color combinations & details on the buildings in lunenberg (and in nova scotia in general) are so beautiful and inspiring, i made mom stop so i could snap a few shots...

even the benches are charming...

our big adventure for the day was a trip down to the ovens natural park to see the sea caves. the 'booming' sound of the water rushing into the caves was pretty spectacular, definitely a nice little day trip for us in the sunny weather...

for dinner last night, mussels from the trellis cafe. dinner tonight, chicken pot pie from the saint lawrence kitchen in hubbards... life is good in nosco.
