the new tourist trap...

there is nothing worse than a tourist, except for being one yourself. brand new white sneakers, fanny packs, holding up a map, stopping in the middle of sidewalk traffic to take a photo...ugh. i mean hello, at least TRY to blend in. i grew up in new york, about 50 minutes outside of new york city, and i think i only did the tourist thing once when i was in 5th grade or something. you know, ellis island, the statue of liberty, the circle liner, rockafeller center, etc, that kind of stuff...i was too cool back then. but now that i'm an adult living in boston i'm not afraid to admit that i have indeed boarded a duck tour or two, and i may have walked the freedom trail at one point. it's a great way to get to know the city AND it's kind of a fun thing to do when you have guests visiting from out of town. my friend steph just told me about the coolest tour ever around boston, one that i think A LOT of people will be excited about. so other than the sports teams and chow'dah what else in boston known for??? that's right people mobsters and lobsters!!! genius right? they take you around to all the infamous crime scenes and the mobster hangouts, and then top it off with a lobster dinner! can't wait for my next set of visitors to come so we can be total tourists!
