i am not a surfer, i tried it once and failed miserably. but i do love to wear my bathing suit, lie out in the sun until it goes down, all the while working on my tan & bleaching my blonde hair. i'm also drawn to the inherent relaxed lifestyle of a surfer; the way a surfer talks (i use the words bro and stoked in almost every conversation i have), the warm climate a surfer typically seeks, and the homes of surfers (i'd kill to have a house at the beach)...especially that of the trobbe family in santa cruz. their family home was featured in the april 2010 issue of coastal living...think they'll let me move in with them? or at least crash on their couch for a while? everything about this place feels unforced, unrestrained, but incredibly sophisticated and all in a casual sort of way. makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay a while...
any master bedroom that has an over sized portrait of their family dog chillin' on a surfboard is definitely ok in my book. and i'm loving the seagrass headboard & the large floral print curtains & pillows, it's all working so lovely together, it just ooozes simple, nonchalant elegance...
how fun is a room full of built-in bunk beds too?..
