blast from the past...

so monday night steph, haley & i went to the middlesex lounge to check out an old friend from high schools band, whom steph randomly bumped into over the weekend, apollo sunshine...

(our friend, jeremy, is the one jumping out from the bushes)

first things first, i realized i am not as cool as i once thought i was. aside from the fact that i can hardly keep my eyes open past 10pm, i didn't realize that the new in hair-do for hipsters is the straight-across-cut bangs (for both boys and girls). so yeah, i felt a little out of place...

admittedly, jeremy was not one of my close friends in high school, but it was really fun to go out and see what he's been up to since our adolescent days. apparently his band is a group of guys he went to berklee school of music with. they all live in different locations now, jeremy being in san francisco and is a partner in black & green records studios...ummm, how freakin' cool is that?

(katonah is the name of the town where we all grew up, ok, so i was south salem, but it's close)

so, in typical form, we did not stay late enough to watch apollo sunshine take the stage, but i've been listening to some of their stuff and they're actually really good! did you know they are in the movie whip it
soundtrack, listen here.... so bigtime...

i personally kind of like this song best from what i've heard so far...

congratulations jeremy, you're doing some pretty cool things...way cooler than me anyway. hope we get to catch one of your upcoming april shows in boston!
