...you get really excited that your garage has finally been cleaned out. pathetic right? welcome to my world. last weekend with the help of a co-workers high school age son (who was looking to make a little summer money- ps- best cheap labor in the world if you're looking to hire) we were finally able to clear it out and getting it to look more like a garage than a dumping ground.
yesterday i was able to see how my step-dad had his peg board set up for lawn tools and got myself some peg board and hanging gadgets as well. it was a real interesting morning watching me put this stuff up by my weak little self, let me tell you. but now that things are hanging up on the wall and/or are pushed up to the outside walls i'm hoping to park my car in there starting later this fall. it will be the first time i've ever parked my car in a garage of its own...again, pathetic suburbanite fantasy of mine...
you may be wondering what that random bed thingy is in the middle of the garage, right? i've been looking for a narrow day bed for the blue room, but everything was either too wide or way too expensive. until a few months ago when mom and i came across this antique french campaign bed for a steal! i still need to clean it up (hence the reason it's in the garage) and mom is in the process of making a custom mattress with navy blue ticking stripe fabric for it... the bed actually folds out to a full twin size so she's going to make two matress's (no one on earth is that skinny to sleep on it the folded up way). i've already started collecting accessories for it (a beautiful antique red, white and blue quilt and a needlepoint pillow of my mom's i've had for a while now)...can't wait to show you the finished product in a few months...
