i hate, hate, hate my downstairs bathroom. however, i don't have $15k to renovate it. it's just frustrating because it's the bathroom all my guests use, so i want it to look good. when i moved in the bathroom was hideous and blue and NOT clean, at all...and yes, those are butterflies hot-glued to the walls (nasty)...
now it's white and clean, but still not what i want it to be...but good enough for the time being...
i do like the hexagonal floor, and would probably install it again, new. the current floor has a large crack in it (hence the large black rug which covers it)...and i know the dark grout is on purpose, but i can't help but think it looks dirty (i'm a bit ocd about cleanliness)...
i love the fact that the downstairs bath has a tub, except this one is not to code because the tub fill is below the rim of the tub. but i do think the original porcelain fixtures are pretty cool...
but the home depot special 4x4 butt-ugly wall tile has got to go, immediately...
the one fixture i do like about this bathroom is the toilet...it's old school from malden, ma...and it's got the BEST flusher on the planet, although not eco-friendly in the least, this thing probably uses 10 gallons of water when it flushes...
ok, and i do love the deep linen closet in this bathroom, which i promptly filled to the gills...
i started collecting bathroom inspiration on pinterest, but this one is by far my favorite. i'd do a different pedestal sink than the junkie one i currently have, i'd like to put 4' wainscot beadboard paneling on the walls, new white hexagonal tile o the floor, likely 3x6 subway tile on the shower walls, chrome fixtures...and dare i put black on the upper walls? and i MUST have that pink and white striped rug too, MUST...
here are a few others that i wouldn't turn my nose up at either...i REALLY need to win the lottery...
