fall, fall, fall cooking...

i used to love fall (i still do), but now that i'm a homeowner fall has taken on a whole new meaning to me...meaning, there's a lot of stinkin' fall maintenance to do. i spent a better portion of yesterday raking & bagging leaves and attempting to clean my own gutters. is it pathetic to say that i'm sore from doing all that manual labor?

i also got to do some awesome fall cooking this weekend. first up was curried carrot soup (although i did not do that fancy swirly thing, i just added a bit of light cream). i had these beautiful multi-colored carrots from by boston organics delivery this week, it was a beautiful sight...

then i woke up this morning with a hankering for apple crisp for breakfast- god i love being an adult, you can eat whatever you want for breakfast! i happened to have bought a bag of apples yesterday and had all the other ingredients on hand! ps- i added a dash of nutmeg to the recipe...
