there's nothing like spending your snow day at home by the fire. i am lucky enough to have a wonderful wood burning fireplace in my apartment, a luxury that is not lost on me. but this is no ordinary fireplace, oh no, this is a grand centerpiece of my living room and the tile work speaks for itself...
and like a fabulous outfit, it's important to accessorize your fireplace. to the right i have this old metal feeding trough i picked up at an antique show a couple of years ago...
and these INCREDIBLE dragon andirons mom and i scored at an auction. he was missing a few wings so we had a metal smith make a few replacements (although not as great as the originals)...
i don't think i could live in a house without a wood burning fireplace, be still my heart, glowing flames.
