superbowl sunday laziness...

in preparation of the superbowl today the dogs, cat & i are doing a whole lot of nothing this morning...except lying around in our sunny apartment waiting for the big game...

and then i caught graydy nonchalantly resting next to his food bowl this afternoon...he's so subtle in his demands. i was glad i had the camera out to capture this moment...

in case you were wondering, i am cheering for the colts today, only because i have a crush on peyton manning...not because he is particularly good looking, but because i just think the whole manning family are a great bunch of people (and his little brother is my ny giants quarterback!). the boyfriend however is cheering for the saints today. can't say i will be disappointed if they win too, new orleans deserves something good, so it's a win-win for me either way.

apres ski epicness...

my favorite party of the year took place last night...the south bean ski slope apres ski party...yes, in south boston (nowhere near an actual slope). thanks to my sister's mother-in-law i was once again outfitted in only the coolest attire...

this year they did not have the ice luge, but instead they traded it in for 'the wheel', and of course there was the famous 'shot ski'...

i love how into it everyone gets for this party...

i of course brought home the cutest boy at the party...

the death of my boots...

my favorite pair of tall, brown leather, flat heeled boots died last night. they were anne klein charisma boot which apparently is longer available, anywhere!

in true fashion i immediately went online in search of my next pair of favorite brown boots, figuring most would be on sale this time of season. i found a few i liked on piperlime, especially all the frye boots, however those were not in my budget. here are a few i was deciding between...

it figures, story of my life... as soon as i drop off a chair i've been hoarding for months to reupholster in fabric i've also been hoarding for quite some time, i come across these fabrics from tonic living (thanks to reading rambling renovators this morning)....

valentine's day certainly has not always been a favorite holiday of mine, mainly because i was single for many, many years and it was depressing to say the least. in fact, i may have even blurted out the phrase 'i hate valentine's day' once or twice as couples in love strolled by.

i can't say that i have high expectations for valentine's day now that i am no longer single (having nothing to do with the boyfriend). i'm sure we'll have a nice meal in, exchange cards, and a few smooches. but i do love flowers, for any occasion really, and although pricey, winston flowers of boston might just be my favorite. here are a few blooms i wouldn't mind receiving february 14th....hint, hint...

today i am loving tobi fairley's spread in the march issue of house beautiful. this is by far the most desirable breakfast nook for your home...spot on perfection! oh how i love those blue & white painted floors, oly studio's ajax chairs covered in a lovely aqua & cocoa fabric, fabulous beaded turquoise chandelier above, and those large casement windows flanked by those pinch pleated panels...yummy...
